Qualifications
Hold or be eligible to hold a Utah Secondary License with Music (K-12) endorsement.
Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesUnder the general supervision of the School Principal, develop students’ understanding and appreciation of the art of music, including listening to a wide range of musical genres, periods, and styles.
Identify, promote, and develop each student’s talents in vocal and instrumental musical expression.
- Develop and administer a music education curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives.
- Promote a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small‑group instruction and student learning.
- Develop a balanced music program and lessons to organize class time so that students have adequate time for preparation, rehearsal, and instruction.
- Conduct ongoing assessment of student musical learning and progress, and modify instructional methods to fit individual student needs, including students with special needs; conduct individual and small‑group instruction as needed.
- Utilize a repertoire of all types of music literature, as appropriate.
- Plan, coordinate rehearsals, and direct students in musical programs and performances outside the classroom.
Placed on Licensed Salary Schedule. Placement is determined by education level and years of experience. Experience credit will be awarded for the first ten (10) years of certified experience in an accredited school.
HoursFull time. Begin August 2026.
