Military Medicine Program Associate Director (Full-Time)Salary: $140,182 - $185,000 per year, commensurate with experience and faculty rank. Final salary will be determined by the RVU Rank and Promotions Committee.

Primary PurposeThe Military Medicine Program Associate Director will preferably be located on the Utah campus and will co‑coordinate the development, implementation, delivery, and assessment of military medicine–related curriculum across all four years of medical student education. The director will mentor and advocate for student participants in the Health Professions Scholarship Program (HPSP) and provide administrative support to the program director and students on both Colorado and Utah campuses.
The role includes initiating, coordinating, and directing original research and other projects directly related to the military medicine program.
- Provide oversight, direction, and guidance for faculty members involved in teaching military medicine.
- Lead and mentor military medicine faculty and staff through feedback, assessments, performance evaluations, and improvement actions.
- Assist in preparing financial and budgetary plans and oversee expenditures related to military medicine instruction.
- Recruit adjunct faculty members to administer military medicine–related activities.
- Collaborate with administrators and faculty to incorporate military medicine content into other RVU activities.
- Serve as a military bearing role model for HPSP medical students.
- Provide feedback and mentoring to military students.
- Develop collaborative relationships with current and former military officers who may serve as educators, mentors, and provide residency pathways.
- Participate in curriculum development, delivery, assessment, and enhancement consistent with medical training and expertise.
- Engage in scholarly activity, including original research, authorship, presentations, and student mentorship.
- Offer expertise in study design and statistical analysis.
- Maintain a personal and professional development plan and portfolio documenting teaching, professional development, community service, scholarly activity, and research.
- Provide professional leadership consistent with training and degrees (as assigned).
- Outstanding organizational, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Understanding of military officer roles and responsibilities.
- Knowledge of military structure and organization.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential material.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Creative, strategic, and analytical thinking with multitasking capacity.
- Demonstrated research capability (hypothesis generation, study design, analysis).
- Knowledge of the military medicine residency selection process.
- Effective teamwork in a multicultural environment.
- Commitment to inclusive excellence in the workplace and learning environment.
- Doctoral Degree (DO/MD) from an accredited institution.
- Board certification appropriate for training.
- Honorable discharge from military service (O5 or above).
- Formal surgical training.
- Strong understanding of the military community.
- Residency program director or senior faculty status.
- Record of academic achievement (publications, presentations).
- Commitment to integrity and professionalism.

- PhD, MPH, or MS in research methodology.
- Military deployment as officer in charge.
- Board‑certified surgical expertise.
- Experience with medical or casualty simulation.

- Officer in charge overseas station.
