Part Time Behavior Intervention Paraprofessional - Enoch Elementary
Job . The position will remain open until filled.
Work 27.5 hours per week in Cedar City, UT for the Iron County School District.
The paraprofessional works under the direction of the school principal, collaborating with the Special Education Educator, School Counselor, and/or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), assisting students with moderate to intensive behavior and/or mental health needs. The role supports behavioral programs and intensive behavior intervention services for students with disabilities, establishes rapport with students, motivates appropriate social skills and attitudes, fosters greater independence, and develops professional relationships with other staff.
Responsibilities- Collect, document, manage, and use data to inform functional behavior assessments, behavior intervention plans, emergency safety interventions, referrals for additional supports, problem solving, schedules and services to benefit students.
- Able to use Google Suite effectively (e.g., Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides).
- Make data‑driven changes to student programming and document them effectively.
- Work with school professionals and other paraprofessionals to build the school's capacity to address students' behavior and/or mental health needs.
- Maintain current knowledge and improve skill application by participating in regular ongoing professional development.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal policies and procedures for special education and behavior compliance.
- Provide instructional support assistance to students and student groups.
- Participate in the development, maintenance, and implementation of systems for classroom management.
- Guide students in working and interacting harmoniously with other students.
- Operate various types of office equipment such as computers, copy machines, etc.
- Maintain regular, reliable, predictable attendance and job performance.
- Comply with established district policies and procedures.
