OverviewStansbury Junior High School seeks a collaborative and dynamic Instructional Coach to support teachers in developing effective classroom management and evidence-based instructional strategies. The coach will work closely with educators to foster engaging, inclusive, and well‑managed learning environments, ensuring the highest levels of student success.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with Teachers: Work one-on-one and in small groups with teachers to set professional goals related to classroom management and instructional practices.
- Model Best Practices: Demonstrate effective classroom management techniques and instructional strategies during co‑teaching or model lessons.
- Facilitate Professional Development: Plan and deliver workshops, coaching cycles, and professional learning community (PLC) sessions focused on proven teaching strategies (e.g., positive behavior supports, gradual release of responsibility, formative assessment).
- Observation & Feedback: Observe classrooms, provide actionable feedback, and support reflective practice.
- Resource Development: Curate and create resources, tools, and templates that promote evidence-based classroom management and instruction.
- Data‑Driven Support: Help teachers analyze classroom data (behavioral and academic) to inform instructional decisions and management approaches.
- Support Differentiation: Guide teachers in addressing diverse student needs through differentiated instruction and culturally responsive practices.
- Promote a Growth Mindset: Foster a safe, supportive, and collaborative environment for teacher growth.
- Stay Informed: Keep current with research on instructional strategies, classroom management, and adolescent learning.
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field (Master's preferred)
- Valid teaching license
- Minimum 3 years of successful classroom teaching experience, preferably at the junior high or secondary level
- Demonstrated expertise in classroom management and effective instruction
- Experience delivering professional development or coaching preferred
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and build trusting relationships
- Commitment to equity, continuous improvement, and high standards for all students
- Schedule: This is a part‑time position; schedule to be determined in collaboration with school administration. 29 hours/week
- Professional Growth: The coach will have opportunities for ongoing learning and may participate in district and school‑level professional development.
- Collaboration: The coach will work closely with instructional leadership teams, counselors, and other support staff.
