Laboratory Assistant

The welding department at USU Blanding is seeking a laboratory assistant. The successful candidate for this position will become a working member of the welding education certificate and degree programs located at the USU Blanding campus in Blanding, Utah.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities will include fabrication of projects for shop improvements, basic maintenance and repair of program equipment, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the lab facility. Duties will also include participating in recruiting events hosted and participated in by the welding program.

Qualifications

Welding major currently enrolled in at least two welding courses at USU Eastern, one semester of courses completed in the welding program, computer literacy, organization, excellent verbal communication skills, dependable and punctual.

$16/hour

Employees work indoors and are protected from weather and/or contaminants, but not, necessarily, occasional temperature changes. The employee is regularly required to sit and often uses repetitive hand motions. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and may lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
