Location

Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector is seeking a Non Destructive Test Technician (NDT) – Level 2 or Level 3 to join our team in Promontory, UT.

Schedule

This position will work a 4/10 schedule, with every Friday off.

In This Job, You Will
  • Perform non‑destructive tests (NDT) on components.
  • Inspect metallic and nonmetallic materials, parts and assemblies for defects using automated and manual methods and techniques including radiography, ultrasound, penetrant, eddy current, laser shearography, and magnetic particle.
  • The primary focus will be in the area of radiographic inspection (RT) of rocket motors using digital systems and Ultrasonic Testing inspection (UT) of metal and composite components.
  • Handling and movement of energetic and non‑energetic parts and components is required to perform inspections.
  • Other duties as assigned.

This position can be filled at either a Level 2 or Level 3.

Basic Qualifications For Level 2
  • High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experience.
  • No clearance required to start.
  • Current Level 2 certification in radiographic inspection (RT) with a minimum of 1 documented year of aerospace experience in a quality organization utilizing a Level 2 OR Current Level 2 certification in ultrasound (UT) with a minimum of 1 documented year of aerospace experience in a quality organization utilizing a Level 2.
  • Additional Current Level 2 certification in any of the following methods: ultrasound (UT), eddy current (ET), dye penetrant (PT), magnetic particles (MT), leak testing (LT).
  • NAS
    410 qualified Level 2 classroom training/experience, or equivalent, in radiographic methodology, either in progress or completed.
  • Must pass the 20/25 Snellen or Jaeger No. 1 vision test for NAS 410 certification.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen able to obtain Employee Possessor designation from the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.
  • Perform physical requirements of this position including lifting up to 50 lbs.
