Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Participate in the development and implementation of company safety programs such as lockout/tagout, confined space entry, fire protection and other OSHA safety compliance programs.
- Advise the management team regarding safety protocols and procedures to ensure safety of employees and vendors as well as regulatory compliance as mandated by local, state and federal agencies, including Utah Occupational Safety and Health (UOSH), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Bureau of Land Management (BLM)
- Inspect and evaluate workplace environments, equipment, and practices to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.
- Investigate all near misses, accidents and report the findings to management.
- Prepare written reports on their findings.
- Conduct safety training or education programs to demonstrate the use of safety equipment.
- Coordinate “right to know” programs regarding hazardous chemical or other substances.
- Maintain inventories of hazardous materials and keep up with chemical inventories.
- Work with vendors to make sure they are compliant with federal, state, and local work enforcement agencies.
- Collect drug and alcohol samples when needed.
- Enforce drug and alcohol policies.
- Work with MSHA, OSHA, EPA, BLM, and other agencies.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to approach a stressful situation in a calm and orderly manner.
- 5 years’ field experience in OSHA general industry or construction or 5 years’ experience in MSHA compliance
- MSHA miner certified
- Knowledge of Frac operations
- Knowledge of Workover operations
- Knowledge of oil facilities
- Working knowledge of regulatory compliance
- Proficient in Microsoft office suite
- Must live within 50 miles of the Roosevelt Field Office
