Summary
Project‑based employee role supporting the initial development phase of autonomous vehicle platforms. The role spans 2‑4 years, depending on business needs.
Responsibilities- Research and analyze data including customer design proposals, specifications and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application.
- Design products or systems for robotic control using electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic principles and components.
- Participate in fabrication and installation activities to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications.
- Coordinate operation, maintenance, and repair activities that optimize utilization of machines and equipment.
- Design products and systems to interface machines, hardware, and software.
- Evaluate field installations and recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
- Contribute to design reviews.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 0‑2 years Mechanical Engineering related experience.
- 0‑2 years of machine & product design experience using Solid Works, Pro‑E, or Catia.
- Design experience in CAD/Solidworks software.
- Experience using math software like Matlab or Mathcad.
- Good technical writing skills.
- Basic understanding or some experience with GD&T.
- Familiar with stress analysis and thermal analysis.
- Basic understanding of electrical circuit design.
- Familiar with strength of materials.
- Understanding of fatigue.
- Familiar with kinematics.
- Experience with finite element analysis.
- Some exposure to electrical engineering preferred.
