Mechanical System Design & Analysis Engineers (Associate or Mid-Career) – Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS)
The Strategic Deterrence Systems Team at Hill Air Force Base, Utah, seeks skilled engineers to support the Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Weapon System. Candidates will join a highly knowledgeable team, receive mentorship, and work on design engineering for major ICBM subsystems including propulsion, guidance, and ground systems.
Responsibilities- Design, integrate, test, and sustain mechanical systems.
- Analyze systems requirements and develop mechanical, electronic/electrical, and other system specifications.
- Plan, assess, and report on testing, including aging surveillance, flight test, and failure investigations.
- Develop and review engineering drawings and models using CATIA, NX, and Autodesk software.
- Support design configuration control with Product Life Management systems (Smar Team, 3DX, Teamcenter).
- Design cable harnesses and routing for integration into complex assemblies.
- Conduct failure analysis of hardware and associated test equipment.
- Generate and present briefings to internal and external customers.
- Write technical documents such as plans, procedures, memorandums, reports, and technical orders.
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace/Aeronautical, or Materials Sciences).
- Associate (Level2) – 2+ years of related engineering experience.
- U.S. Secret Clearance prior to start (pre‑start). Not required but preferred.
- Mid‑career (Level3) – 5+ years of related engineering experience.
- Experience applying engineering processes and principles.
- Knowledge of system architecture, requirements, interface definition, verification, and validation.
- Experience with modeling and simulation.
- Proficiency with engineering tools such as DOORS, CAMEO, CATIA, NX, AutoCAD, etc.
- Experience with Product Life Management systems (Smar Team, 3DX, Teamcenter).
- Experience with Model‑Based Engineering/Model‑Based Systems Engineering.
- Experience conducting failure analysis of hardware, test equipment, or complex systems.
- Experience integrating complex systems into large assemblies.
- Experience designing cable harnesses and routing through complex assemblies.
- U.S. Government security clearance – U.S. Secret Clearance required; U.S. citizenship required.
- Position will be 100% onsite.
