- 5–7 years of professional experience with electrical systems integration and hardware troubleshooting
- Hands‑on proficiency with standard electronic test equipment, including Oscilloscopes and Multi‑meters
- Experience in wiring harness design, pin mapping, harness routing, and electrical schematic layout
- Strong capability in diagnosing and analyzing serial bus communications (specifically CAN bus electrical signals and data)
- Proven background troubleshooting electrical prototypes and diagnosing/repairing complex circuitry deviations
- Experience programming embedded or electronic modules (specifically using logical/visual programming languages)
- Prior work exposure to Drive‑by‑Wire (DBW) systems or autonomous robotic platforms
- Familiarity with soldering, preventative maintenance, and calibration of sensitive developmental components
- Ability to effectively reverse‑engineer and adapt legacy electrical topologies into new vehicle variants
We are seeking a proficient Electrical Engineer for a high-impact, fully onsite contract position based in Mendon, UT. This role focuses on designing, modifying, and installing sophisticated electrical subsystems on small robotic units and ground‑based vehicles. Working under the guidance of senior engineering staff with a high degree of autonomy, the incumbent will own electrical topology mapping for Drive‑by‑Wire systems, design and build custom wiring harnesses, analyze CAN bus data signals, and perform full‑lifecycle hardware troubleshooting to accelerate prototype development.
ROLES& RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design end‑to‑end electrical system diagrams, layout drawings, and engineering specifications, including detailed wiring harness architecture and pin mapping.
- Collaborate closely with cross‑functional engineering teams to safely route harnesses, strategically place electronic modules, and build out physical vehicle prototypes.
- Program embedded modules using logical visual programming languages, and assemble, test, and validate developmental electronic components and equipment.
- Utilize advanced electronic test equipment (Oscilloscopes, multi‑meters) to isolate functional faults, resolve structural electrical/mechanical malfunctions, and replace defective circuitry components using precision hand tools and soldering irons.
- Plan, complete, and meticulously log periodic electrical testing and performance validation results to recommend or initiate critical system modifications or preventative maintenance.
