Overview:

The Senior Steel Detailer will be responsible for leading the creation of detailed drawings, models, and specifications for complex steel fabrication projects. This senior-level position requires extensive experience in steel detailing and strong leadership abilities. The role involves managing a team of detailers, coordinating with engineers and project managers, and ensuring that all detailing work meets design specifications, safety standards, and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Detailing:
    • Lead the creation of detailed drawings, models, and specifications according to project requirements.
    • Utilize CAD software, specifically Tekla, to produce accurate and high-quality drawings and models.
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations in all design outputs.
  • Project Oversight:
    • Oversee the detailing process for complex projects, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and quality.
    • Review and approve detailed drawings, models, and documentation to ensure compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
    • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and construction teams to ensure detailing work meets project requirements and deadlines.
  • Quality Assurance and Control:
    • Establish and enforce rigorous quality control procedures and standards for all detailing activities.
    • Conduct regular audits and reviews of detailing work to identify and address any issues or deficiencies.
    • Implement corrective actions and follow-up measures to ensure the highest quality standards are maintained.
  • Team Leadership and Mentoring:
    • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of detailers, providing guidance and support for professional development.
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations, set goals, and provide constructive feedback to team members.
    • Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment, encouraging knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Collaborate with engineers and project managers to understand design concepts and requirements.
    • Facilitate regular meetings to discuss detailing progress, issues, and resolutions.
    • Communicate effectively with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to address design issues and provide technical guidance.
  • Professional Development:
    • Stay updated on the latest advancements in steel detailing, materials, and construction techniques.
    • Participate in training programs, workshops, and professional development activities to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
    • Seek opportunities for growth and advancement within the organization .
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in steel detailing or a related role.
  • Familiarity with Tekla software is required.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate drawings and models.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards.
