Job Overview
As Manager, Stewardship, you will lead our growing team in Manila, supporting the delivery of high‑quality ESG research and engagement activities for our institutional investor clients. You will coordinate day‑to‑day workflows, provide quality control on research and engagement deliverables, and contribute to continuous improvement of processes. This hands‑on role requires balancing strong research capability with effective coordination and stakeholder management across teams and time zones.
Location& Work Environment
This is a full‑time hybrid role based out of our Makati office, with regular in‑person attendance three days a week.
Key Responsibilities- Support and coach a growing team of ESG research and engagement professionals in Manila, fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and high‑performing culture.
- Ensure delivery of high‑quality ESG research and engagement outputs aligned with internal frameworks and client needs.
- Coordinate the team’s support for investor‑led corporate engagements on material ESG issues across sectors and regions, including preparing engagement briefs, tracking progress, and capturing key insights.
- Collaborate with colleagues across North America, Europe, and APAC to align on priorities, timelines, and standards, escalating issues as needed.
- Contribute to the professional growth and skills development of team members, including mentoring analysts in building ESG expertise and strengthening core research capabilities.
- Assist with local resource planning, onboarding coordination, training, and performance review processes, in partnership with Stewardship leadership and HR.
- Identify opportunities to improve research methods, templates, and internal systems, in line with market developments and client expectations.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
- Meaningful experience in ESG research, stewardship, responsible investment, or a related field (typically 6–10 years).
- Proven experience managing large or rapidly growing teams, ideally within a multinational or cross‑regional environment.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively lead teams while addressing and supporting member requirements.
- Strong ESG thematic knowledge across areas such as climate, natural capital, human rights, and corporate governance.
- Experience in a client‑oriented role, with an understanding of institutional investor needs and standards.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ESG issues clearly.
- Ability to work effectively across time zones and within global teams.
- Proven ability to plan, coordinate, and deliver projects in a structured and timely manner.
- Strong leadership, people management and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical rigor and attention to detail.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands‑on execution.
- Collaborative, adaptable and solutions‑oriented approach.
- Curiosity about evolving ESG trends and investor needs, and the ability to translate these into practical research and engagement outputs.
