Cosmetologist – The Cliff Spa at Snowbird, Salt Lake City, Utah

Year‑round position, shifts vary. Must work Saturdays and either Sundays or Wednesdays. Hourly rate plus 30% commission and tips on services.

As a Salon Cosmetologist at The Cliff Spa you will take the salon to the next level by providing outstanding service and treatments to guests.

• Perform all treatments offered in the salon including haircuts, hair color, updos, facials, brow lamination, brow wax and tint, lash lift and tint, manicures, and pedicures.
• Have knowledge and experience performing basic manicures and pedicures.
• Be punctual, prompt each appointment, and complete services within the allotted time.
• Be flexible to support the needs of the spa and provide consistent professional treatments in accordance with spa protocols and accepted certification practices.
• Have complete knowledge of all services and products offered.
• Educate guests about specific wellness concerns, handling questions and concerns professionally and courteously.
• Prep work, clean, sanitize and restock each workspace as required; care for equipment and use proper amounts of product for cost control.
• Uphold sanitation and sterilization standards as directed by law and spa policies.
• Communicate to management any incidents involving staff or guests that require attention.
• Work independently without direct supervision, maintain a positive attitude, contribute to a quality work environment, and attend training and staff meetings.
• Help maintain the cleanliness and standards of spa facilities.
• Show teamwork and be a team player.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Utah Cosmetologist License.
• 1–2 years of job‑specific work experience with demonstrated competence.
• Salon knowledge and experience.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally.
• Reliable, mature, and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Judgment within policy guidelines without supervisory approval; problem‑solving and initiative within job description limits.

Shift times typically 9:45am‑4:00pm or 12:15pm‑6:30pm. Must work on Saturdays and either Sundays or Wednesdays.

• Prepared to stay overnight if necessary; occasional road closures.
• Experience high business volumes, deadlines, public interaction, winter conditions, snow night requirements, and commuting.
• Ability to lift 35lbs, stand for long periods, and perform bending, kneeling, reaching, grasping, and repetitive motions.
• Direct and continuous contact with guests and co‑workers.
• Maintain pleasant interactions and good working relationships with all departments.
