SURGICAL TECHNICIAN
Join our Surgical Team in the OR at Moab Regional Hospital.
Moab Regional Hospital is hiring a detail-oriented and reliable Scrub Tech to join our dedicated OR team. This essential role supports surgeons during operations, ensures a sterile environment—including housekeeping—and contributes to safe, high-quality surgical care. Our ideal candidate is a compassionate, critical thinker with strong knowledge of surgical procedures and patient safety, and the ability to respond effectively in emergencies. This is a full-time, salaried, non-exempt position offering excellent benefits, overtime eligibility, and a six-week rotation that promotes work-life balance.
Due to the rural location of MRH, candidates must possess a comprehensive range of general scrub skills, including central sterile processing, and be able to adapt and learn without hesitancy.
This is a full-time, year-round, benefited position. Unique Schedule – Designed for Work-Life Balance:
Scheduled weekdays, requires on‑call responsibilities, including rotating evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Work scheduled Monday – Friday (7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.) for 5 weeks
- During the 6th week, you’ll be on evening/night call only (3:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.) 5–7 nights of call per month, with no scheduled day shifts
- You’ll be paid overtime for hours worked over 40/week
- Starting pay range: $22 – $31/hour, DOE
- Current BLS Certification
- Available to take an average of 8–10 call days per month (up to 14, depending on staffing levels), with a 20‑minute response time to hospital
- Excellent knowledge of aseptic and sterile techniques
- Solid understanding of patient safety and precautions
- In‑depth knowledge of surgical operation procedures, preferred
- Prior experience as a scrub/surgical technologist, preferred
- Experience with central sterile processing, preferred
- A great team player with excellent communication skills including oral, written, and listening skills
- Cool‑tempered with emotional and physical stamina and able to respond effectively in stressful situations with changing circumstances
- 1 year Surgical Tech experience, preferred but not required
- Certified Surgical Tech, preferred but not required
