We are seeking a motivated individual to fill our part time, dialysis assistant position within our facility. This individual will report directly to the manager of the dialysis unit and play a key role in data entry, maintaining supplies, attending meetings, answering phone calls and assisting the staff and patients in various capacities.
Key Performance Indicators- Greet patients and visitors
- Assist patients with personal belongings
- Assist in recording pre and post treatment patient weights / temperatures
- Copying, faxing and filing
- Learn how to take patient vital signs i.e. temperature, oxygen saturation level, blood pressure etc.
- Assist dialysis staff as needed with preparing chairs, wiping down equipment and obtaining supplies for patient use
- Housekeeping duties as requested
- Assist dialysis manager with staff trainings each month
- Report data in government websites i.e. End Stage Renal Disease Quality Reporting System (EQRS) each month
- Assist in reporting for CMS- 2728 & 2746 forms
- Assist in scheduling guest patient treatments
- Assist dietician or other staff with educational boards each month
- Send monthly reports to nephrologists offices for their patients
- Assist in inventory assessment / ordering each week for the PD & HD departments
- Care plan audits for patients each month
- Assist with patient admission paperwork, signatures etc.
- Assist in the monthly PD patient clinics- supplies, lunch certificate on card etc.
- Chart nurse checklist data entry each month
- Kidney transplant referral process with patients
- Vaccination audits / data entry for PD & HD patients
- Assisting dialysis unit manager with other requested tasks that fall within appropriate scope of practice
- Lead / assist dialysis staff when the dialysis manager is not available or on vacation
- Assist in developing / managing the dialysis work schedule if requested
- Attend / assist in monthly QAPI meetings with the interdisciplinary team members
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to stoop, safely lift, push and pull 25 pounds or more above the waist
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check
- Must obtain and maintain first aid / cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification

- Monday through Thursday one week (9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. 30 minute lunch break)
- Tuesday through Friday the next (9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. 30 minute lunch break)
- This schedule will alternate with the dialysis managers schedule to ensure better coverage for the unit when the manager isn’t working
