POSITION OVERVIEWThe Health Educator develops, implements, and evaluates health promotion programs aimed at improving the health and wellness of communities within the Tri County area. This position works collaboratively with community organizations, internal staff, and regional partners to design effective educational interventions and ensure access to reliable health information.
This position requires flexibility, as duties will primarily occur after school hours and may extend beyond the traditional workday. The successful candidate will serve students across all grade levels within the Duchesne School District and must be a creative, collaborative professional who can develop programs, build community partnerships, and adapt to evolving needs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Develop and distribute health education materials, including pamphlets, posters, videos, and digital content.
- Plan, facilitate, and present workshops, conferences, community events, and other educational activities.
- Promote health education initiatives and collaborate with the PIO share information through social media, websites, press releases, and other media platforms.
- Identify and collaborate with community partners to enhance health education outreach and program effectiveness.
- Assist in preparing grant applications and securing funding to support health education initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records, documentation, and databases for program activities.
- Supervise and support program staff and volunteers, providing guidance and training as needed.
- Provide staff, community agencies, and organizations with access to relevant health education resources.
- Evaluate program effectiveness and provide reports on outcomes and community impact.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the department’s mission and objectives.
- Travel may be required to any Tri-County Health Department location as needed.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Health Promotion, Health Education, Public Health, Community Health, or a closely related field, preferred.
- Strong communication and public speaking skills
- Experience developing and delivering health education programs and materials
- Ability to engage and collaborate with community organizations and stakeholders
- Knowledge of social media, press releases, and other outreach platforms
- Grant writing and fundraising experience
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
- Experience supervising or coordinating staff and volunteers
- Creativity in designing educational materials and campaigns
- Ability to evaluate program effectiveness and report outcomes
- Familiarity with public health principles, health promotion strategies, and community-based interventions
