Medical Administrative Assistant & InterpreterFull time – Wendover, UT, US
Salary: $17.36 – $21.71 per hour
Job SummaryAn administrative medical assistant is responsible for maintaining the administrative and clerical tasks for providers and other medical staff in the clinic. They keep the office running smoothly and act as an essential link between providers and patients. The role also involves interpreting in various settings, including patient visits, pharmacy consultations, and telephone encounters.
Responsibilities- Provide interpreter services as requested by medical staff.
- Interpret medical and regular terminology accurately and in a culturally sensitive manner.
- Assist with translating medical documents, forms, and patient education materials as needed.
- Assist patients with initial paperwork.
- Conduct interviews with patients to gather their medical history and conditions.
- File health care documents appropriately in the patient’s file (e.g., immunizations).
- Update and maintain patients’ health records.
- Answer patients’ queries and ensure quality customer service.
- Collaborate with providers and nurses to help with medical examinations and schedule tests.
- Facilitate effective communication between patients, families, and healthcare providers in both verbal and written form.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
High School diploma or GED equivalent.
ExperienceOne (1) or more years of hands‑on patient care experience (e.g., MA, CNA, Scribe); at least one year of administrative experience.
Certification and License- Medical Interpreter certification (e.g., CCHI, NBCMI)
- CPR certification
Spanish speaking.
Preferred Requirements EducationAttended an accredited medical assisting program and holds certification.

- Medical Administrative Assistant Certificate
Experience working with the Native American community.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Knowledge and understanding of medical terminology.
- Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
- Knowledge about electronic medical records and medical coding.
- Knowledge of basic medical procedures.
- Written and interpersonal communication skills.
