Lead Admissions Clerk
Lead the charge in delivering exceptional patient experiences.
As our Admissions Lead overseeing Urgent Care and Emergency Department admissions teams, you'll ensure every patient receives top‑notch care. Partnering closely with the Patient Access Coordinator, you'll drive daily operations, build a rockstar team through recruitment and training, and foster seamless collaboration across the hospital. Your focus? Creating a patient‑centric environment while maintaining flawless accuracy in patient information.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee daily operations: manage the workflow and staff in the Urgent Care (UC) and Emergency Department (ED) registration areas.
- Team management: supervise, train, and coach registration staff.
- Policy development: create and maintain procedures and policies for the registration process.
- Quality assurance: monitor and improve registration accuracy, efficiency, and patient satisfaction.
- Financial performance: contribute to revenue goals while maintaining patient care standards.
- Staffing: assist with hiring, scheduling, and payroll.
- Patient experience: promote a positive patient experience through effective communication and teamwork.
- Compliance: ensure adherence to HIPAA, OSHA, CMS, and other regulations.
- Problem‑solving: handle complex issues and complaints.
- Flexibility: adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure.
- Reliability: on‑time, regular attendance is essential for this position.
- High School graduate, or equivalent experience, required.
- Intermediate computer skills; working knowledge of Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook, required.
- Prior supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records software, preferred.
- Medical terminology combination of education and/or experience, preferred.
- Admitting, insurance eligibility and verification knowledge, preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience in a hospital outpatient setting preferred, or related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- This position requires near‑constant sitting and/or standing.
- The ability to hear/listen, see and use fine motor skills on a near‑constant basis.
- This position may require occasional medium‑lifting, to include up to 25 lbs. with or without assistance.
- This position includes limited exposure to noise and/or odors.
