We have four primary care health centers and deliver integrated services including behavioral health, pharmacy, dental, specialty referrals, chronic disease management, health education, and much, much more.
UNHS is hiring one (1) Full-Time (FT) position for a Therapist. Critical tasks include providing clinical services to youth and young adults who may be suffering with a serious mental illness or serious emotional illness, providing psycho-therapy services to youth and young adults, collecting data using observation, interviews, and counseling sessions to specifically diagnose and assess behaviors, working in conjunction with other behavioral health professionals such as Nurse Practitioners and Psychiatrists to derive an appropriate treatment plan, providing interventions and therapy by identifying behaviors and prescribing effective activities for behavior modification, providing crisis counseling services for individuals and families as in-person or telehealth service and determining resources and referrals for higher level of care needs, and working with other practitioners such as Nurse Practitioners and Psychiatrists to develop treatment plans and interventions for SMI (serious mental illness) clients with borderline personality disorders, suicidal thoughts, and self-harming behaviors.

Requirements include inputting client data in the EHR (electronic health records) or current record-keeping system, collaborating with other licensed practitioners effectively to finalize, change or develop new clinical interventions, collaborating with assigned Case Manager to align goals with treatment plans, monitoring client intake of prescribed medications and reporting any noticeable behavioral changes to Prescribers, communicating effectively with clients, client families, clinical staff, and other prescribers involved in the overall treatment plan, utilizing current behavioral health techniques in cognitive therapy work with youth and young adults, and demonstrating compassion in communications, active listening, patience, and interpersonal skills.
Metrics include maintaining appropriate licensure; licensed counselor or licensed social worker, maintaining ongoing CEU's (continuing education credits) as required, meeting caseload requirements as prescribed by the agency, providing appropriate reporting as required by the Chief Medical Officer for UNHS, and meeting all auditing requirements for regulatory oversight.
Qualifications include a master's degree in social work or related field, licensed practitioner in the State of Utah, Navajo preference, and prefer experience working with Native American communities.
