Fusion Medical Staffing – Therapy is seeking a Travel Physical Therapist for a 13‑week assignment in Wellington, Florida. The assignment starts ASAP with 8‑hour shifts and 40 hours per week.
Required Qualifications- Valid Physical Therapy license compliant with state regulations.
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
- Doctorate degree in physical therapy.
- Experience as a Physical Therapist; new graduates are welcomed.
- Other certifications or licenses as required for the position.
The Physical Therapist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats patients with physical impairments to improve mobility, reduce pain, and enhance quality of life. Working in hospitals, clinics, or rehabilitation centers, they create personalized, evidence‑based treatment plans using exercise and manual therapy to promote independent recovery.
Essential Work Functions- Evaluate patients’ physical conditions with standardized tests, examinations, and history to identify limitations and treatment needs.
- Develop personalized rehabilitation programs based on assessment findings and patient goals.
- Implement treatment plans using techniques to improve mobility and reduce pain.
- Operate specialized equipment and modalities safely, ensuring proper maintenance.
- Assess progress, adjust plans, and document evaluations, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other professionals to coordinate care.
- Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise, body mechanics, injury prevention, and self‑management.
- Maintain a safe environment, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
- Engage in quality assurance initiatives and professional development activities.
- Collaborate in discharge planning for smooth transitions to community or home‑based settings.
- Perform other duties within scope of practice as assigned.
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication.
- Proficient reading, writing, and spoken English.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and basic PC skills.
- Remain stationary, move about, lift and move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend.
- Work effectively with various personnel, maintaining a positive attitude and professionalism.
- Perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and assist with procedures or equipment usage.
- Handle frequent public contact under pressure; work under supervision or independently.
- Manage irregular activity schedules and continuous concentration on details.
- Possess visual acuity and effective communication skills.
