School Maintenance Worker CE

Incumbent will create and maintain a safe, positive learning environment to ensure the holistic development of each student and staff member through cultural, social, spiritual, physical and academic experiences. Incumbent will support the Bureau of Indian Education’s mission to provide high quality educational opportunities from early childhood through life while considering a tribe’s need for cultural and economic well‑being.

• Education:
  
  High School or GED diploma required.
• Experience:
  
  Minimum of one year’s experience in general maintenance or related work, demonstrating skill in at least three skill/craft areas.
• Ability:
  Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
• Physical Requirements:
  • Annual physical examination required.
  • Must be able to lift over 50 pounds and be in excellent physical condition.
  • Good distant vision in one eye and ability to read typewritten material without strain.
  • Ability to hear conversational voice, with or without a hearing aid.
  • Amputation of arm, hand, leg or foot will not disqualify applicants; a satisfactory prosthesis that does not create a safety hazard is required.
  • Must have mental and emotional stability.
