Monday – Friday, requires some on call responsibilities to include weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Starting salary range:$76,294-$108,638 DOE
Position Overview:
This leadership role oversees the operations of the Medical Staff Office and is responsible for coordinating credentialing, privileging, provider onboarding, medical staff governance, regulatory compliance, and physician support services. Working closely with the Chief Medical Officer, medical staff leaders, executive leadership, and regulatory agencies, the Manager ensures that the systems and processes supporting our providers are efficient, compliant, responsive, and aligned with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Regulatory and Accreditation Compliance
- Maintain policies, procedures, and files in line with CMS Conditions of Participation, Joint Commission standards, and state regulations.
- Prepare for and participate in surveys, audits, and inspections.
- Process Improvement and Efficiency
- Evaluate and enhance workflows related to provider onboarding, credentialing timeliness, and communications.
- Recommend process updates to ensure high accuracy and efficiency.
- Database Administration
- Oversee credentialist and the credentialing database or software system. Ensure data integrity, security, and timely updates of all med staff data. Generate reports for medical staff committees and leadership as needed.
- Collaboration and Communication
- Partner with Human Resources, Quality/Compliance, and department chairs to coordinate provider onboarding, orientation, and ongoing competence assessments.
- Serve as the primary contact for providers regarding credentialing and governance matters.
- Credentialing and Privileging Management
- Manage and maintain complete credentialing and privileging files for all medical staff and allied health professionals.
- Ensure all verifications, references, and supporting documentation to meet accreditation and regulatory requirements.
- Education and Support
- Monitor and maintain the annual schedule of all student rotations, affiliations, and approvals with onboarding checklists for Moab Regional Hospital.
- Recruitment and Talent Acquisition
- Lead provider and APP outreach and recruitment for the medical staff as well as assist in interviewing, meet-and-greet moments, and coordination of on-site interviews for potential applicants to Moab Regional Hospital.
- Medical Staff Governance Support
- Provide administrative support to Medical Staff Committees, including preparation of meeting materials, agendas, and minutes.
- Coordinate the flow of information between committees, departments, and the governing body.
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in medical staff services, credentialing, or a related professional field, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
Experience in critical access, rural hospital environment, or a comparable level of professional interaction is strongly preferred.
Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) and/or Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM) suggested and preferred within 18 months of hire.
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, or a comparable field is preferred.
Effective communicator who can build positive relationships with providers and staff.
Proficiency in credentialing software systems and Microsoft Office applications.
