Medical Lab Scientist

Intermountain Health seeks a Medical Lab Scientist to perform complex diagnostic testing supporting high-quality, patient-centered care. Responsibilities include analyzing blood and body fluids, validating results, operating and maintaining analyzers, and ensuring strict quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. You'll collaborate closely with clinicians, support process improvement, and help train team members in a mission-driven, innovative environment focused on community health and continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Perform and validate routine and complex laboratory tests on blood and body fluids to support diagnosis and treatment
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory analyzers and instruments following quality and safety standards
• Ensure accurate specimen collection, labeling, processing, and storage in compliance with regulatory requirements
• Analyze, interpret, and report test results using LIS/EHR systems with attention to detail and timeliness
• Participate in quality control, proficiency testing, and continuous process improvement initiatives
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other care team members to clarify orders and optimize patient care
• Maintain detailed documentation, records, and logs to meet CAP, CLIA, and hospital accreditation standards
• Train, mentor, and support new staff and students in laboratory procedures and protocols
