Porter - Lodge at Bryce Canyon

Job Description

A porter is a vital hospitality worker responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and operational flow of the Main Lodge, and surrounding outdoor areas. Must be able to handle physical tasks such as janitorial duties, waste management, basic maintenance, and assisting guests with luggage or navigating the property.

Job Responsibilities

• Sweep (indoors and outdoors), mop, and vacuum floors, clean and sanitize common areas (lobbies, hallways), and
  thoroughly clean and restock restrooms.
• Empty trash bins, collect and remove bagged trash from doorstep.
• Assist with carrying and storing luggage (50lb+), direct visitors to specific rooms or offices, and answer general inquiries
• Organize, transport, lift, and deliver tour bus luggage from coach to guest rooms, and from guest rooms to coach. This included many trips up and down stairs as there are no elevators on property.
• Complete minor maintenance tasks, such as replacing light bulbs, tightening loose fixtures, and reporting larger maintenance issues to management.
• Keep an ongoing inventory of cleaning and restroom supplies, restock items as needed, and run facility-related errands.
• Keep walkways and entrances free of clutter, place wet-floor signs, monitor security regulations, and follow emergency evacuation procedures
• Greet and provide customer service to guests while anticipating their needs
• Book reservations and coordinate registration
• Operate a register and/or software system
• Answers phone calls and emails and delivers messages as needed
• Maintains excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
• Other duties and tasks as assigned by manager

Qualifications

Qualifications

• Previous guest services experience preferred
• Demonstrates excellent customer service skills
  Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
• Demonstrate organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective equipment (PPE).
