Bell/Valet (Seasonal)

Under the direction of the Lead Bellman, you will assist guests with luggage, transportation, shuttles, parking, and overall guest service at the Lodge at Snowbird.

• Escort incoming guests to rooms and assist with luggage.
• Ensure that luggage is safe, not left unattended, and is placed in the cart properly.
• Deliver luggage to guest rooms within 15 minutes of arrival.
• Place luggage on the luggage rack when rooms are completed.
• Offer additional assistance after rooming, such as points of interest and entertainment attractions.
• Explain room features including radio, television, housekeeping service, refreshment center, room safe, and heat control.
• Collect luggage from the guest room within 8 minutes of a departure call.
• Follow the master key usage procedure.
• Be visible and available in the lobby to assist guests.
• Use guest names whenever possible and maintain eye contact.
• Keep the work area neat and clean.
• Provide valet service by parking and retrieving vehicles and directing traffic.
• Answer the telephone within four rings with a clear greeting and close with a pleasant remark.
• Maintain accurate call logs for check‑in, check‑out, and miscellaneous services.
• Assist in maintaining bell desk log sheets.
• Consistently demonstrate personal guest service excellence as an ambassador for the hotel.
• Maintain a high level of professionalism in all aspects of performance.
• Shovel snow and salt walkways and parking areas; assist with lot clearings as needed.
• Occasionally drive shuttle trips to Salt Lake Valley.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least six months of job‑specific experience with demonstrated competence.
• Minimum age of 21 years.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean motor‑vehicle record.
• Strong reading, writing, and verbal communication skills.
• Accurate arithmetic skills.
• Reliable, mature, and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Judgment exercised within company policy.
• Problem‑solving and initiative within job limits.
• Strong understanding of Snowbird operations.
• Willingness to accept responsibility for one’s actions.
• Ability to engage positively with guests and coworkers and maintain good relationships with all departments.

Shift types vary by weekday, weekend, and holiday. Work days are 8–10 hours, ranging from 7:00am to 3:00pm or 3:00pm to 11:00pm. Full‑time positions are 32hours per week; part‑time positions are 20hours per week.

Work may require overnight stays during road closures, exposure to cold and other extreme weather, and handling of full work loads that can cause physical and mental stress. Must lift up to 75lbs, stand for long periods, perform repetitive motions, and work efficiently under pressure.
