General Counselto oversee all legal matters, mitigate risk, and support our business operations.

Position Overview

The In-House Attorney (General Counsel)will serve as the company by providing strategic legal guidance to protect and advance RVLock’s business interests. This role will focus on corporate governance, contract negotiation, and compliance. This position will work alongside outside counsel as needed with matters pertaining tointellectual property law.

Key Responsibilities

• Legal Strategy & Compliance:Develop and implement legal strategies to protect the company’s interests and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
• Intellectual Property (IP) Protection:Oversee and manage the company’spatents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. Work with outside counsel as needed for IP filings, disputes, and enforcement.
• Contract Drafting & Negotiation:Review, draft, and negotiate contracts, including vendor agreements, licensing agreements, partnerships, NDAs, and employment contracts.
• Corporate Governance:Ensure compliance with corporate policies and governance best practices, supporting the executive team and board of directors.
• Risk Management & Dispute Resolution:Identify potential legal risks, provide proactive legal counsel, and manage litigation or disputes as they arise.
• Employment & HR Support:Provide guidance on labor laws, employee policies, and compliance with workplace regulations.
• Mergers, Acquisitions & Business Transactions:Support due diligence, negotiations, and legal structuring of potential business deals.
• Regulatory Compliance:Ensure adherence to industry regulations, consumer protection laws, and international trade policies, as applicable.

Qualifications & Skills

• Juris Doctor (JD) degreefrom an accredited law school.
• Active bar membershipin good standing (preferably in [state where RVLock is headquartered]).
• 5+ years of legal experience,preferably with in-house counsel experience at a consumer product or manufacturing company.
• Experience in intellectual property law(patents, trademarks, and trade secrets) is strongly preferred.
• Strong background incontract law, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance.
• Ability towork independentlywhile collaborating across departments, including R&D, finance, operations, and marketing.
• Experience handlinglitigation, risk management, and business negotiations.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skillswith a business-oriented mindset.
