DescriptionAs our Resort Maintenance Technician
, you will perform routine and preventative maintenance to maintain the physical integrity of our Resorts while providing excellent customer service to our guests.
This position may require flexible scheduling availability.
Key Responsibilities- Complete minor repairs to rental homes and facilities as needed
- Perform routine maintenance and minor emergency electrical repairs, plumbing, sewage, construction, and street repair
- Inspect irrigation systems regularly and repair as necessary
- Inspect playground, pool/spa, and other recreational amenities, making minor repairs as needed
- Ensure resort is presentable and adheres to Island’s curb‑appeal standards
- Perform lawn care and landscaping: weed treatment, leaf raking, mulch spreading, shrub trimming, and tree limb removal as required, especially after adverse weather
- Remove trash and debris from common areas and streets daily and empty trash containers as needed
- Clean resort amenities, including clubhouses, tennis courts, pickleball courts, offices, restrooms, laundry areas, bath houses, and maintenance garage
- Maintain vacant sites by removing trash and debris, and strap‑downs
- Remove snow from community streets, parking lots, building entrances, and other areas, using plows, salt, snow blowing, and/or shoveling equipment when applicable
- Complete checklists of the physical condition of resort sites before and after guest occupancy
- Assist the Resort Manager with supervising service contractors
- Report all maintenance issues and concerns to the manager
- Ensure all resort streets and public access routes are free of hazards
- Maintain resort pool(s); test chemical levels and adjust appropriately
- Maintain resort vehicles and equipment
- Follow safety procedures while operating vehicles and handling supplies
- Basic computer proficiency, including use of email and the internet
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to provide legible written reports
- Proficiency operating hand tools, power equipment, and commercial machinery
- General knowledge of janitorial work, plumbing, electrical, and grounds maintenance
- Experience in general maintenance techniques and repair work
- Ability to respond to resort needs during non‑business hours while on‑call
- Six months of previous maintenance experience in a campground or RV resort preferred
- Flexibility for on‑call and off‑hour work
The duties include standing, sitting, and walking for extended periods, lifting or moving up to 25 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 100 pounds. The number of hours worked each week is variable and is based on guest occupancy, staffing, and other factors. Island Hospitality does not guarantee a specific number of work hours per week.
