The Skier Services Assistant Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation of Wasatch Peaks Ranch Skier Services, including Ski Check, the Member Locker Room, Guest Day Lockers, rental lockers, overnight storage, locker access support, and overall member and guest flow.
This position serves as the primary operational leader for the department and is responsible for building and executing staff schedules, supervising daily operations, maintaining service and facility standards, managing timecards, coordinating training, supporting staff performance, and ensuring consistent execution across all Skier Services functions.
The Assistant Manager works closely with the Outfitters & Skier Services Manager on staffing, performance management, purchasing, member issues, operating procedures, and larger departmental decisions. This role requires strong hospitality judgment, operational discipline, ski-industry knowledge, and the ability to lead a team in a high-touch private club environment.
The Member Locker Room operates year-round, making this position responsible for maintaining continuity of the locker and storage operation beyond the winter season.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Daily Operations:
- Lead the day-to-day operation of all Skier Services areas.
- Ensure Ski Check, Member Locker Room, Guest Day Lockers, rental lockers, and storage areas are properly staffed, organized, clean, and ready for use.
- Build the department schedule and manage daily staffing deployment based on business volume, member activity, weather, holidays, events, and operational needs.
- Submit schedules to the Outfitters & Skier Services Manager for approval and maintain the approved schedule throughout the operating period.
- Manage employee timecards and address routine payroll or scheduling discrepancies.
- Lead opening, closing, daily reset, and operational-readiness standards.
- Maintain a visible presence within the operation and step into frontline functions when needed.
- Adjust staffing and assignments throughout the day to support changing demand.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Directly supervise Skier Services Supervisors and Attendants.
- Lead daily pre-shift communication, staff assignments, and operational priorities.
- Support onboarding, training, and continued development of all Skier Services staff.
- Establish and reinforce clear service, safety, cleanliness, equipment-handling, and communication standards.
- Provide regular coaching and feedback to employees.
- Address performance, attendance, conduct, and employee-relations matters in coordination with the Outfitters & Skier Services Manager.
- Participate in candidate interviews, hiring recommendations, formal performance conversations, and disciplinary processes in coordination with the Manager.
- Develop Supervisors to independently lead daily operations.
Locker and Storage Program Operations:
- Oversee the daily operational administration of:
- Member Locker Room
- Rental lockers
- Guest Day Lockers
- Locker access and credentials
- Overnight storage
- Long-term equipment storage
- Locker records and operational documentation
- Maintain accurate records and ensure locker access systems are properly administered.
- Support members and guests with access issues, storage questions, and operational concerns.
- Coordinate seasonal inventory, storage records, and shutdown/startup procedures.
- Maintain the year-round readiness of the Member Locker Room.
- Escalate member locker assignment decisions to the Outfitters & Skier Services Manager
Ski Check and Equipment Handling:
- Ensure Ski Check operates accurately, efficiently, and consistently.
- Maintain standards for ski and pole storage, retrieval, staging, identification, and end-of-day returns.
- Ensure member and guest belongings are handled carefully and securely.
- Oversee long-term and seasonal equipment storage processes.
- Investigate misplaced equipment, storage discrepancies, or equipment-handling concerns.
- Ensure equipment-handling areas remain organized and serviceable.
Member and Guest
Experience:
- Maintain a highly professional, proactive, and personalized service environment.
- Ensure staff recognize members when possible, anticipate needs, and develop familiarity with member equipment and preferences.
- Handle routine and elevated member service issues and coordinate more significant concerns with the Outfitters & Skier Services Manager.
- Work closely with other WPR departments to support seamless member arrivals, departures, storage needs, and daily activity.
- Ensure Guest Day Locker use remains intuitive and well supported.
- Maintain discretion and professionalism in all member and guest interactions.
