Manage and oversee all aspects of the product line, while working closely with the organizational and site leadership. Manager will combine business knowledge with technical knowledge to optimize profitability and efficiency when it comes to the related products and/or services.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILIITIES:- Identify implement and support safety, environmental, lean manufacturing, quality, and process improvements.
- Build collaborative relationships with the broader manufacturing organization, including Human Resources, Finance, Sales, Engineering, and other Plant Operations.
- Support the overall facility manufacturing strategy, including capacity planning, the technical development of manufacturing processes and establishment of cost, quality, and delivery targets.
- Lead teams in achieving performance goals associated with Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.
- Balance business capability with customer needs and demand.
- Allocate and manage resources (labor, capacity, and materials) to optimize productivity.
- Participate in product team meetings to help effectively improve product line performance and strategic planning.
- Demonstrate initiative and willingness to effectively seek out improvements using Lean Manufacturing tools.
- Adaptability to respond quickly to a shifting reality and adjust initiatives and priorities accordingly.
- Foster an environment of accountability and collaboration.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
- Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, meetings, workshops, etc.
- Must have Business Management, Engineering, or related college degree.
- Must have minimum of fifteen (5) years of experience in manufacturing and operations.
- Experience using Lean Manufacturing principles to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
- Substantial experience in all aspects of labor relations.
- Performs work under minimal supervision.
- Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to operations employees.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Organizational skills and the flexibility to jump from priority to priority, which are essential to a role that juggles a variety of functions and projects.
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job duties consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
- Frequent walking and/or standing is required.
- Ability to work safely and adhere to the Swanson Safety System in daily job duties.
