Purpose and Scope
Pack and/or re‑packs a wide variety of materials. Verifies the condition code of the item to be packed and rejects those not meeting the release order requirements. Determines the type of pack required in accordance with information contained on documents and other packing and shipping instructions such as military standards, DOD Manuals, and regulatory requirements (HAZNAT, RAD). Reports to designated Lead, Supervisor or Manager.
EssentialResponsibilities
- Minimum three (3) months general work experience which will demonstrate ability to perform requirements of position. No specific experience required.
- High school diploma or GED required. May substitute one year of general experience for one year of high school.
- Must be able to obtain license to use MHE within 30 days of selection.
- Packers who process material requiring HAZMAT certification must successfully pass training requirements.
- Position may require travel.
- Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.
Shop environment with hazardous equipment, moving MHE, obstacles, and high volume of activity. Must be able to lift and carry up to 45 pounds for short distances, stoop, bend, kneel, walk, have full dexterity, and correctable vision. Outside work in hot and cold or wet weather is often required. Work environment often has fumes or airborne particles. Noise level is loud.
Protective devices are required to avoid injury.

Enforce a safety culture with responsibility for continuously developing and maintaining a safe work environment. Complete all training requirements, participate in emergency response tasks, and serve on safety committees. - Quality:
Conform to the company’s Quality Policy and carry out job activities in compliance with applicable quality documents and customer contracts. - Procedure Compliance:
Read, understand and implement the general and specific operational, safety, quality and environmental requirements of all plans, procedures and policies pertaining to the job.
- Hourly, overtime‑eligible position under the Service Contract Act (SCA).
- Base hourly rate: $20.92 (may vary based on job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, and applicable laws).
