General Purpose

The primary role of a Fluid Receiver/Shipper is to ship and receive fluid products and CIP tankers, line circuits, and fluid tanks while maintaining high standards of personal and product safety. The secondary role of a Fluid Receiver is to perform master sanitation and preventative maintenance tasks per company policy in the receiving department.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensuring compliance with all company policies, local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Ensuring the following facility programs are followed:
    Safety, Food Safety, GMP, Preventive Maintenance, Quality Assurance, Sanitation.
  • Help ensure all policies and procedures for the PMO (Pasteurized Milk Ordinance), American Institute of Baking (AIB) and Quality Assurance International (QAI -- organic) are followed.
  • Ensure all customer specific policies, procedures, and specifications are followed.
  • Unload and load out fluid products.
  • CIP tankers, receiving lines, load out lines, storage silos.
  • Ensure all paperwork is completed completely and correctly.
  • Ensure all recording charts are properly documented according to company and regulatory regulations.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and master sanitation tasks.
  • Constantly look for continuous improvement and process improvement and communicate.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, organized work area throughout the facility and office area.
  • Perform all other duties deemed appropriate, necessary, required, or directed by plant management.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience
  • Educational Requirements:

    High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Preferred Experience:

    One year experience in a manufacturing and or production environment.
Necessary Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Must be able to use and understand calculations used for weights.
  • Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and writing, sufficiently to prepare and comprehend wash tags, shipping and receiving paperwork, master sanitation schedule, and communicate with truck drivers and fellow employees.
  • Must be able to hook up hoses, change jumpers.
  • Shows willingness and aptitude to use own discretion in finding solutions to problems and presenting options and ideas to enhance current processes or procedures. Takes on additional responsibility when both big and small tasks need to be done.
  • Firmly adheres to the values and ethics of Dairy Farmers of America. Exhibits honesty, discretion, and sound judgment.
  • Willing to work with others, collaborating and compromising where necessary; promptly share relevant information with others.
  • Is open to changing situations and is willing to perform all tasks when and where assigned.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Sitting, standing, kneeling, bending.
  • Walking, bending arms, wrists, fingers; twisting/turning of head, shoulders, and torso: climbing onto tankers.
  • Must have sufficient use of eyes, ears, and full power of speech.
  • Work will be done both in a partially climate controlled office environment, as well as in a partially climate controlled shipping and receiving bay. The actual operation of plant equipment is necessary and awareness of potential hazards surrounding the equipment and operation must be recognized.
