Commissioning Manager

QISG is hiring a Commissioning Manager to support the IPA power generation project in Delta, Utah. Position highlights include a long-term project assignment in Delta, UT, leading and overseeing commissioning activities from construction turnover through startup, testing, and final project acceptance. This is a full-time, permanent QISG position with opportunities to transition to future projects after completion. Must be willing to maintain a strong onsite presence at the project site.

Duties include leading and managing all commissioning activities from project planning through final turnover, developing and executing commissioning plans, coordinating with engineering, construction, and project management teams to ensure system readiness, overseeing pre-functional testing, functional performance testing, and system start-up, reviewing design documents, specifications, and drawings for commissioning requirements, managing commissioning documentation, reports, and closeout packages, interfacing directly with clients, vendors, and subcontractors during commissioning phases, identifying, tracking, and resolving commissioning issues and deficiencies, coordinating with subcontractor and stakeholder teams to ensure full alignment on scope, schedule, and execution, ensuring commissioning activities comply with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements, supporting training of operations and maintenance personnel as required, participating in project meetings and providing regular status updates, adhering to internal standards, policies, and procedures, performing special projects, and completing other duties as assigned or requested.

Required experience and education include a bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field (or equivalent experience), minimum of 5–10 years of experience in commissioning management on large project execution, strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, and/or control systems, proven experience managing commissioning activities on complex projects, ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications, commissioning certifications (e.g., AABC, ASHRAE, or equivalent), prior experience in a client-facing role, experience in large utility substation or infrastructure projects, and experience in HVDC converter stations is a plus.

Skills include strong people relationship management skills, self-starter and strong organizational skills, strong problem evaluation/solving skills, strong team building skills, ability to interact effectively and professionally with the design team and construction teams, strong management and communication (electronic, written, and verbal) skills, and proficiency with MS Office and project documentation tools.

Travel requirements include travel: yes, percent of time: up to 100%.
