The Satellite Victim Advocate, stationed in San Juan County, plays a critical role in establishing a nurturing outreach support system focused on creating a safe and healing environment for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking. Responsibilities include developing and implementing safety plans, offering service referrals, providing case management services, and giving continuous support and advocacy, encompassing legal, medical, and emotional aspects.
Adherence to a strict code of conduct and the utmost confidentiality are key principles guiding the Satellite Victim Advocate's work. Building and nurturing community partnerships are facilitated through service-based educational presentations to diverse organizations in both counties. In addition to direct services, the Satellite Victim Advocate will support the expansion and implementation of sexual assault prevention efforts in San Juan County.
