Dialysis Registered Nurse

- Provide chronic hemodialysis therapy, including formulating dialysis plans for ultrafiltration, initiating dialysis via various accesses, and monitoring patient vital signs according to the plan of care.
- Administer medications, fluid therapy, and other treatments per physician orders and document in the patient treatment record.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessment, document findings, and assist with compliance to dietary or medication regimens.
- Analyze patient data, monitor vascular access status, review laboratory results, and report any significant changes or abnormalities to the physician or Manager of Dialysis Services.
- Prepare and monitor dialysis machines, water systems, and dialysis delivery systems following established procedures.
- Inform the Manager of Dialysis Services of any equipment malfunctions and obtain machine and water cultures as requested.
- Ensure accurate documentation of patient medical records and complete treatment records.
- Maintain adequate supplies and participate proactively in quality‑improvement programs.
- Adhere to Blue Mountain Hospital policies and procedures, state and federal regulations (CMS, OSHA, HIPAA), and all safety standards.
- Review pre‑ and post‑dialysis care with patients, discuss health concerns, and communicate relevant information to physicians or the Manager of Dialysis Services.
- Provide diabetes education to patients as required.
- Deliver quality patient care in a considerate and respectful manner.
- Work overtime on short notice when needed.
- Attend team meetings, phone and quality‑improvement conferences, and educational activities as required.
- Meet all annual competency and skill test requirements.
- Follow employee guidelines, employment policies, and department or hospital procedures.
- Maintain consistent, punctual attendance as scheduled.
- Know and act according to facility emergency plans.
- Perform all other duties within the scope of practice as assigned.
- Current RN license in Utah or a CAQH compact state RN license.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNN) or Certified Dialysis Nurse (CDN) certification preferred but not required.
- Ability to stoop, safely lift, push, and pull 25 pounds or more above waist level.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Successful completion of a criminal background check.
- Maintain current first‑aid/CPR certification.
- Willingness to complete a typing test with a minimum of 30 words per minute.
- Part‑time availability.
