Job Summary and QualificationsAs a Neuro Med Surg Registered Nurse
, you will deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care meeting departmental and state standards. You will collaborate with medical providers and the care team, use nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage,” and advocate for patients, families, and caregivers.
Responsibilities
:
- Assess patients during admission and each scheduled shift, correctly identifying and reporting changes in patient status.
- Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical providers; ensure thorough documentation in the patient’s medical record.
- Administer prescribed medications, monitor therapeutic response, and respond appropriately to unintended medication effects.
- Respond promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipate needs, and resolve issues.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers about medical condition, treatment plan, medications, side effects, and follow‑up measures; translate complex terminology into clear explanations.
Qualifications
:
- Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma;
Associate’s preferred. - Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
- Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice or holding an active compact license.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
