The pediatric inpatient unit at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital is a dynamic 10-bed unit staffed with highly trained pediatric nurses, physicians, and support staff. This unit supports a positive work environment and continuous learning.

Provides comprehensive care to children admitted to the hospital on our dedicated pediatric unit for various medical conditions, ensuring the patients receive the highest quality of care during their hospital stay.

• Provides family-centered care
• Conducts thorough assessments of pediatric patients to determine their medical needs and monitor their progress
• Works closely with board-certified pediatric hospitalists and child life specialist to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Explains treatment plans and procedures to patients and their families, offering emotional support and reassurance
• Maintains hospital and unit specific competencies
• Advocates for the needs and best interests of pediatric patients, ensuring they receive appropriate and compassionate care

At least 1 year of pediatric nursing experience preferred.

Required courses must be completed through the hospital and within 6 months of hire:

• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
