Abbruzzese Brothers, Inc is a full-service commercial landscape company focused on quality, safety, and great client service.
Seeking a hands-on Lawncare Crew Leader to supervise and work alongside field crews, complete maintenance, ensure quality workmanship, and keep projects on schedule. This is a field-focused role that requires leadership, technical skill, and strong communication.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and work alongside a crew maintaining landscapes: mowing, trimming, blowing, edging, mulching, weeding, and site cleanup.
- Assign daily tasks, manage crew productivity, and ensure work meets company standards and project specifications.
- Read and follow work orders, landscape plans, and supervisor instructions; perform basic layout and staking.
- Train and mentor crew members on techniques, proper tool use, and safety practices.
- Maintain equipment and tools; ensure proper care and storage.
- Monitor timekeeping, report labor and material usage, and communicate job progress or issues to management.
- Enforce jobsite safety protocols and company policies; conduct toolbox talks when needed.
- Interact professionally with clients on-site and address minor client concerns or escape when necessary.
- 3-5 years’ field experience in landscape installation and/or grounds management; prior lead or supervisory experience preferred.
- Proficient mowing, trimming, blowing, edging, mulching, weeding, and operation of hand tools/landscape equipment.
- Ability to read basic plans and follow instructions.
- Strong leadership and communication skills; reliable and punctual.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Physically able to perform outdoor manual labor in varied weather conditions.
- Experience operating small equipment (skid steer, trencher, ride-on mower).
- Basic pesticide or fertilization knowledge.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
- Mostly outdoor work with early start times; occasional weekends or overtime during peak season.
- Regular lifting, bending, kneeling, and equipment operation.
- Travel between job sites within service area.
