Client Overview
Our client, a well-established manufacturer supporting regulated industries, is seeking a QC Chemist to join their Quality Control team. The organization operates a modern analytical laboratory environment focused on product quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Salary / Hourly Rate$30/hr – $36/hr based on experience
Position OverviewThe QC Chemist will support Quality Control and overall laboratory operations by performing analytical testing, contributing to R&D initiatives, and ensuring compliance with established procedures and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience with HPLC and GC instrumentation and come from a background in pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, or food and beverage industries. This is a contract position requiring immediate availability, and preference will be given to local candidates who have immediate availability.
Responsibilities- Prepare, collect, and analyze samples using standard laboratory techniques.
- Conduct routine and non‑routine analytical testing and document results.
- Operate and maintain analytical instrumentation (e.g., HPLC, GC).
- Perform wet chemistry techniques and sample preparation.
- Investigate and troubleshoot deviations or out‑of‑specification results.
- Maintain accurate lab records, logs, and documentation.
- Calibrate and maintain lab equipment and instrumentation.
- Revise and support the development of SOPs and lab documentation.
- Assist with method development and continuous improvement efforts.
- Support internal lab projects and cross‑functional initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe lab environment.
- 3+ years of experience in a Quality Control or analytical chemistry lab.
- Hands‑on experience with analytical instrumentation (HPLC & GC required)
- Strong understanding of laboratory procedures and data recording practices.
- Experience in troubleshooting instrumentation or analytical methods.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic data systems.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Experience in regulated industries (e.g., dietary, pharmaceutical, or food manufacturing).
- Familiarity with Lean processes or structured problem‑solving methodologies.
- Experience supporting audits or working within compliance‑driven environments.
- Exposure to method development or validation.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field is required.
