Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector is seeking a Flight Inspector – Level 1 or Level 2 to join our Receiving Inspection team in Promontory, UT. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work.
This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.
In this job, you will:- Successful candidates will work independently to perform a wide range of quality inspection tasks.
- Perform visual, in-process and final dimensional inspections on tightly tolerance piece parts, subassemblies and final assemblies.
- Perform certification and data package reviews from various suppliers and vendors.
- Performs required inspections in accordance with procedures and planning documentation.
- Performs required inspections using standard measurement instruments.
- Must be able to work shift work, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required
- Able to acquire and maintain Employee Possessor (EP) status under the Safe Explosives Act (SEA).

Basic Qualifications for Level 1:
- High School diploma or equivalent and 0 years additional education and/or related experience.
- Knowledge of working with government contractors.
- SMI (Standard Measuring Instruments) experience
- Interpret drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge and understanding of GD&T.
- Excellent shop math skills and advanced trigonometry.
- Experience with ISO 9000/AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
- Must have good computer skills
- Must be able to work shift work, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required
- Able to acquire and maintain Employee Possessor (EP) status under the Safe Explosives Act (SEA).
- Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time, walk up and down stairs, climb up ladders, reach into tight spaces, and lift up to 30 pounds.
- High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experience.
- Experience working with government contractors.
- SMI (Standard Measuring Instruments) experience
- Interpret drawings and specifications.
- Working knowledge and understanding of GD&T.
- Excellent shop math skills and advanced trigonometry.
- Experience with ISO 9000/AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
- Experience with Continuous Improvement/PES techniques.
- Must have good computer skills
- Must be able to work shift work, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required
- Able to acquire and maintain Employee Possessor (EP) status under the Safe Explosives Act (SEA).
