Mt Carmel, Utah. Zion Mountain Ranch is an elevated sanctuary just 3 miles from the East Entrance of Zion National Park, set on a roaming bison preserve.
OverviewZion Mountain Ranch offers thoughtfully crafted cabins and bespoke lodges with on‑site experiences such as guided horseback riding, bison feedings, and Cordwood, a field‑to‑fork restaurant featuring ingredients from the ranch’s organic gardens. The ranch blends purposeful hospitality with land preservation and a deep respect for the American West.
Responsibilities- Function as an ambassador of Zion Mountain Ranch, modeling and sharing the “culture” with guests and employees.
- Uphold the most professional image and strive to exceed guests’ expectations.
- Ensure overall quality management of the food and beverage outlet.
- Supervise, recruit, hire, and train restaurant staff, including daily operations, safety trainings, and behavior‑based feedback.
- Work on the floor during periods of high volume, covering any position needed.
- Maintain positive communication with staff and management, holding general staff meetings, one‑on‑one meetings, and daily pre‑shift huddles.
- Develop, implement, and maintain a satisfactory training program for restaurant staff.
- Maintain consistent and fair disciplinary procedures.
- Determine appropriate staffing levels according to business forecasts.
- Establish and implement a quantitative system for measuring food quality, service, and customer satisfaction; monitor feedback and take corrective action.
- Develop and support at least one “signature” food item and one “signature” beverage item within one month of opening.
- Maintain proper sanitation standards and proper maintenance of facilities and equipment.
- Implement security and safety protocols, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations, including liquor laws, employment laws, OSHA rulings, and sanitation standards.
- Ensure appropriate interior environment, atmosphere, and theming standards are maintained.
- Manage overall financial performance of the outlet, including revenue, cost of goods sold, labor/payroll costs, and general expenses, adhering to budgetary guidelines.
- Properly maintain payroll, inventory, P.O.S., and informational systems; maintain inventory costing, ordering, receiving, invoicing, and bill payment procedures.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers.
- Assist with overall restroom cleanliness and duties when needed.
- Perform any other duty management deems necessary, including participation in leadership events and employee dinners/events.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more.
- Ability to organize.
- Effective communication with supervisors and line employees.
- Ability to absorb large amounts of information quickly.
- Maintain safe sanitary work practices.
- Read and understand Safety Data Sheets.
- Excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Work with a “safety‑first” attitude.
- Minimize environmental impact when at work and living onsite.
- Treat customers, co‑workers, leadership, and internal guests with respect; project a hospitable service atmosphere at all times.
- Maintain neat, clean, and well‑groomed appearance.

Due to the in‑person nature of the hospitality business, you must be prepared to work a schedule that may include Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. The ranch operates every day.
Work Location and HousingThe position is on‑site. RV space with hook‑ups is available at no cost for employees, and limited employee housing on‑site is also available. Commuting from the local vicinity is acceptable.
