Position: Business Development & Project Manager (Residential Construction)
Location: Vineyard

We are seeking a motivated Salesperson who enjoys building relationships, developing new opportunities, and seeing construction projects through, from idea to reality.

This role works directly with custom home builders, remodelers, contractors, interior designers, and homeowners to secure new projects, provide guidance through the stone selection process and ensure customers' expectations are met, while representing one of Utah’s only luxury stone fabricators.

This is a relationship-driven, performance-based role where top performers can increase their earnings through an uncapped commission program tied directly to sales results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop relationships with custom home builders, contractors, designers, and homeowners.
  • Perform market research to find new customers.
  • Analyze the market’s potential and work with leadership to develop a strong sales strategy.
  • Conduct showroom consultations and source specific stone and assist customers with the final stone selections.
  • Comfortable cold calling, visiting home builders' offices and job sites to develop new business opportunities.
  • Stay current on product knowledge, industry trends, and competitors offerings.
  • Guide customers through design options.
  • Gather project information, prepare estimates, and work with the operations team to execute and exceed customer expectations.
  • Present proposals, secure signed contracts and collect deposits.
  • Review and approve suggested changes by either customers or vendors and coordinate appropriate updates to scheduling and other timeline activities
  • Be the key point of contact throughout the sales process and through the life of the project. Ensure communication with customers is constant and consistent.
  • Proactively monitor progress of overall construction activities.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction upon completion of the project.
  • Represent MGS by Design professionally within the community.
Qualifications
  • Previous sales experience required, preferably in the stone industry. Backgrounds in the home improvement, remodel, interior design, specialty contractors (tile, cabinets, etc...) custom construction and luxury home building industry will also be considered.
  • Ability to manage a project from start to completion.
  • Customer focused with excellent negotiation and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interaction with all levels of the organization.
  • Team player with the aptitude for multi-tasking, meeting deadlines, and building relationships with team members, vendors and customers.
  • Professional, outgoing, competitive and results-driven personality.
  • Disciplined with the ability to work independently.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

  • Experience in the stone industry, preferably with a stone fabricator or supplier.
  • Knowledge of the Utah luxury home market.
  • Self-motivated and goal oriented.
  • Professional presentation and positive attitude.

This is a base salary plus commission role. Top earners in this role, have historically exceeded $200K a year in total earnings.

Experience in stone fabrication, tile, countertops, cabinetry, remodeling, or construction sales is optimal for success in this role.
