(SA-TECH) is a progressive and well-established Department of Defense (DoD) contractor specializing in Range operations and maintenance (O&M); weapons testing; facilities management; aerial, ground and seaborne targets O&M; technical, logistics and other engineering support; systems integration; electronics and communications maintenance services; and a growing cybersecurity business. At Dugway Proving Ground (DPG), southwest of Salt Lake City Utah, SA-TECH supports the West Desert Test Center (WDTC), the nation’s designated Major Range Test Facility Base (MRTFB) for chemical and biological defense. The WDTC plans, conducts, evaluates, reports, and supports Chemical and Biological (CB) and non-CB testing efforts for the Department of Defense (DoD), other federal agencies, private industries, and foreign Governments (e.g., environmental assessment/impact evaluations, weapons and munitions demilitarization, chemical energetics/homemade explosive testing, unmanned systems testing, direct and indirect fire weapons testing, hazard assessments, and technical/logistical support of operations at DPG).
At DPG, SA-TECH is looking to hire a Range Controller onto our team to support program efforts and contribute to success at this major DoD Test Facility.
Specific duties include (but are not limited to):
- Plan, coordinate/control, identify and eliminate hazardous conditions arising from testing or training events within DPG boundaries.
- Use air traffic control procedures to safely handle manned and unmanned aircraft within DPG airspace.
- Must be knowledgeable and experienced in testing arenas of chemical, biological, aviation, artillery and commodity testing.
- Other duties as assigned.
Work Conditions:
- Work is mostly performed in an indoor industrial setting but field work outdoors under changing weather conditions may be required depending on the location of equipment.
- May be required to lift and handle heavy items (30 lbs.).
- Stand/walk, climb, stoop, bend and push and pull for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for work tasks that require such protective gear.
Requirements
Education/Experience/Skills
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Must be knowledgeable in range operations principles, practices and requirements.
- Must have extensive practical experience in the field and the supplemental training necessary to plan, coordinate/control, identify and eliminate hazardous conditions arising from testing or training events.
- Must possess basic knowledge of air traffic control procedures to safely handle manned and unmanned aircraft within DPG airspace.
- Must be knowledgeable and experienced in testing arenas of chemical, biological, aviation, artillery and commodity testing.
- A commitment to maintaining a productive and collaborative working environment.
- Current Driver’s License required; must be able to be insured through company’s vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment.
- U.S. Citizenship required and you must have a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance prior to hire date and maintain this clearance throughout employment.
