Position Summary:
The Field Service Lead is a senior field role responsible for performing advanced installation, maintenance, and repair of natural gas-powered mobile power units while also providing technical leadership and on-site guidance to Service Technicians. This role serves as a working lead—modeling safe work practices, supporting training, coordinating field activities, and acting as a primary technical resource in the field.
Essential Functions:
Technical & Field Operations
- Install, commission, test, and troubleshoot natural gas-powered mobile power units at customer sites
- Perform advanced diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and complex repairs on power generation systems
- Serve as escalation point for complex mechanical, electrical, and control system issues
- Respond to emergency service calls and lead on-site troubleshooting efforts
- Ensure equipment is operating safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company and customer standards
Leadership & Coordination
- Act as a working lead for Service Technicians in the field, providing day-to-day technical guidance and support
- Assist with onboarding, mentoring, and informal training of new or less experienced technicians
- Coordinate work assignments on-site to ensure efficiency, safety, and quality outcomes
- Model and reinforce safety expectations, including HSE procedures and hazard identification
- Communicate job status, issues, and recommendations to the Regional Manager and operations leadership
- Maintain accurate and timely service records, diagnostics, repairs, and parts usage
- Identify recurring issues and recommend process, equipment, or training improvements
- Support standardization of field practices and documentation
