Duties Help The primary purpose of this position is:
To remove, install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, align, calibrate, and rebuild multi-system avionics complexes consisting of multiple completely integrated electronic avionics systems where the complex accomplishes a number of major functions. DUTY 1:
Removes, installs, modifies, overhauls, maintains, troubleshoots, repairs, aligns, calibrates, and rebuilds multi-system avionics complexes consisting of multiple completely integrated electronic avionics systems where the complex accomplishes a number of major functions. DUTY 2:
Performs pretest, operational (functional), or final testing of electronic systems, components, or subassemblies. DUTY 3:
Advises engineering personnel on the operation and maintenance effects of proposed Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTO) and/or modifications on new or existing equipment. DUTY 4:
Utilizes safety practices and tool control procedures following established safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe and clean work area. DUTY 5:
Prepares/executes effective training plans to maximize training. Requirements Help Conditions of employment

* Performs shift work with uncommon tours of duty.
* May be required to fly in military or contract aircraft for TDY maintenance or training, in accordance with the JTRs.
* May be required to support other units in performing maintenance.
* This is a testing designated position (TDP). The employee is subject to random drug testing. Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the quality level of experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C for WG-2600 Electronic Equipment Installation and Maintenance Family
QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-2600 Electronic Equipment Installation and Maintenance Family. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.
Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. The screen out element for this position is:
Ability to do the work of the Electronic Integrated Systems Mechanic without more than normal supervision. JOB ELEMENTS:
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of electronic theories and practices of one or more complex integrated systems such as fire control, navigation, or automatic landing control systems; of integrated electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, optical, fiber-optic, and mechanical systems; of such applications as radar, digital or analog computers, digital display devices, equipment cooling, and of the technology and practices which integrate these components into a total functional system;
and of mathematics including algebra and trigonometric functions to adapt standard function to the specific requirements of the integrated systems. Knowledge of USAF Technical Order Program and its procedures.
2. Skill in the use of standard hand and power tools of the electronics trade. Skill in the set up and operation of computer controlled automated test equipment (ATE) and test stands, oscilloscopes (dual trace, storage, digitized), spectrum, network and distortion analyzers,…
