The Foreman holds the critical responsibility of supervising work crews to ensure the timely and safe completion of projects. This role is designated as 'safety-sensitive' because failure to properly execute duties could threaten the health and safety of employees, colleagues, and the public.
ForemanEssential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervises and coordinates activities of work crews engaged in erecting structural steel, sheeting, civil work, mechanical, and pipe work.
- Assists workers in tasks such as welding, bolting, erecting, assembling, and finishing.
- Prepares performance reviews, warning/counseling reports, and termination reports.
- Prepares timesheets and work reports for Office Managers and Field Superintendents.
- Serves as a liaison with clients and vendors to provide project solutions.
- Adheres to all safety, QA/QC, and OSHA regulations.
- Works overtime and maintains punctual attendance.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of three years’ experience as a craftsman.
- Previous supervisory experience required.
- Good oral communication skills required.
- Owns all required hand tools.
- Ability to lift in excess of 100 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to climb to heights over 300 feet.
- Capable of pulling body weight when climbing steel, ladders, scaffolding, etc.
- Frequent bending, stooping, carrying, pushing, and pulling.
- Tolerance for temperature fluctuations, loud noises, and dusty environments.
- Ability to be around high voltage electromagnetic fields.
