Abbruzzese Brothers Inc. provides commercial landscape maintenance for HOAs, new developments and property managers. We prioritize reliable equipment, safety, and fast turnarounds to keep large routes running on schedule.

Seeking experienced Lead Shop Mechanic to manage the shop, maintain and repair commercial landscape equipment and fleet vehicles, supervise shop staff, and coordinate parts/inventory and preventative maintenance programs. The ideal candidate combines hands‑on mechanical skills with strong organization, safety focus, and leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial mowing equipment, tractors, zero‑turns, skid steers, blowers, chainsaws, trimmers, small engines, hydraulic systems, and light‑to‑medium duty trucks/vans.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and safety inspections; develop and track PM schedules for fleet and equipment.
  • Lead, train, and schedule shop technicians; assign repair work and oversee quality of workmanship.
  • Maintain parts inventory, order replacement parts, manage vendor relationships, and control shop costs.
  • Keep accurate maintenance records, service logs, and parts/inventory records in company systems.
  • Ensure shop and vehicles meet OSHA and company safety standards; enforce PPE and safe work practices.
  • Coordinate with operations managers and crews to prioritize repairs and minimize downtime; assist with roadside repairs as needed.
  • Perform basic welding, fabrication, and equipment modifications when required.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, fuel‑injection, and ignition systems; use diagnostic tools and meters.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years commercial/industrial/mechanical experience; landscape equipment and small‑engine experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven supervisory or lead experience in a shop environment.
  • Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical diagnostic skills.
  • Skilled with hand and power tools; welding and fabrication experience preferred.
  • Comfortable ordering parts, managing inventory, and tracking repair costs.
  • Good record‑keeping and basic computer skills (work order systems, spreadsheets).
  • Valid driver’s license; CDL and clean driving record preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work on ladders, and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills. Certifications (ASE, small engine, hydraulic) a plus.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
