Position Summary
We’re hiring a hands‑on Landscape/Hardscape Supervisor to lead crews on‑site, perform and oversee installations (pavers, retaining walls, patios, grading, drainage, planting), ensure quality and safety, and keep projects on schedule and within budget. This role is primarily field-based and requires both supervisory ability and regular physical participation in installations.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and work alongside crews during landscape and hardscape installations.
- Read and interpret plans, set layouts, and ensure installations match drawings and specifications.
- Install and troubleshoot pavers, retaining walls, patios, steps, grading, and drainage systems, plant trees/shrubs and install sod when required.
- Coordinate materials, equipment, and subcontractors; ensure timely deliveries and proper staging.
- Monitor and adjust schedules; track labor, materials, and daily job progress; report status to project management.
- Enforce safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized job site; lead toolbox talks and incident reporting.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate crew members; provide hands‑on instruction and quality checks.
- Prepare simple change order estimates and communicate scope changes to management and clients.
- Perform physical labor as needed and step in to complete tasks during tight schedules.
- 3+ years of hands‑on experience in landscape and hardscape installation; prior supervising or lead role preferred.
- Proven skills with pavers, segmental retaining walls, site grading, drainage, planting, and sod.
- Ability to read construction drawings, perform layout, and use basic layout tools (string line, transit/laser, levels).
- Plant material identification skills.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Physically capable of heavy outdoor work in varied weather conditions.
- Knowledge of industry safety practices and willingness to enforce them.
- Certifications in landscape construction.
- Experience operating light/heavy equipment (skid steer, mini‑excavator).
- Basic estimating or project documentation experience.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
- Mostly outdoor work; early starts and occasional weekend work may be required.
- Regular lifting, bending, kneeling, and operating equipment.
- Travel between job sites within service area.
