A Decon Laborer for the Moab Uranium Mill Tailings Remedial Action (UMTRA) Project performs construction decontamination tasks at the Moab and Crescent Junction sites.

• Perform cleaning and decontamination activities.
• Perform in accordance with project policies, procedures, and federal, state, and local regulations for secure and safe operation.
• Conduct thorough inspection of assigned tools and equipment.
• Safely operate hand and powered hand tool equipment in various configurations as assigned.
• Properly complete all necessary paperwork as required by project procedures and federal, state, and local laws.
• Perform work promptly and maintain production to meet service schedules.

Education and Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 0-3 years of experience in construction, decontamination, and basic maintenance duties.

Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, orally and in writing, and maintain related records.
• Motivated team player capable of performing multiple job functions.
• Can execute tasks following written or oral instructions.
• Willing to work a flexible schedule, including overtime, weekends, and night shifts.

• Must pass pre-employment background check.
• Must pass pre-employment drug testing.
• Proof of citizenship required.
• Must pass U.S. Government background check and acquire U.S. Government PIV credential card.

• A valid driver license preferred, not required.
• Ability to qualify as a DOE Radiation Worker II and complete OSHA HAZWOPER and respirator user medical exam.

Work in various PPE (half-face, full-face respirators, Tyvek, etc.) while performing tasks such as climbing, walking, and stopping. Must lift up to 50 lbs alone. No requirement to use or operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment.

Primarily outdoors with exposure to all weather conditions and temperature extremes.
