Intermountain Farmers Association (IFA) is a regional farm supply co‑op with diverse operations including feed production, agronomy services, and retail stores throughout the Intermountain West. We are currently seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Maintenance Technician for the South Region Feed Division located in Nephi, Utah.
SummaryThis position troubleshoots, solves issues with, and repairs production machinery and other electrical and electronic equipment, including PLCs. The candidate should have a broad spectrum of experience, including welding, process equipment maintenance (screw and drag conveyors, elevators, mixers, scales, flakers, extruders, coolers, etc.), boilers, mechanical plumbing, and air compressor systems.
Responsibilities- Responds to manufacturing personnel calls to repair machinery and equipment.
- Installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical equipment; ability to work with high and low voltage electrical up to 480 3‑phase power.
- Read and review electrical blueprints to assist in installation, repair, and improvement of equipment.
- Troubleshoot computerized controls (PLC).
- Removal and installation of varying sizes of motors, including electrical connections and belting.
- Repair of drag and screw conveyors, roll changes and repairs on flaking equipment, elevators, and other process handling equipment.
- Maintain records, implement and follow preventative maintenance routes and routines.
- Fabricate and weld.
- Works to improve the operation and maintenance of machinery and equipment.
- Must be flexible to work different shifts.
Agricultural systems degree and/or 3 years experience working on industrial manufacturing equipment a plus. Experience with AC/DC motor control, PLCs, and circuit boards in an industrial environment. Proficiency in reading electrical schematics, block diagrams, and ladder logic. Proficient at troubleshooting all problems systematically, including electrical and electronic systems, identifying malfunctions and repairing equipment down to the component replacement level. Proficient in the use of electrical and electronic testing and monitoring equipment necessary for maintenance of the plant and equipment.
WorkSchedule
- General schedule about 40 hours per week. Some Saturday work when the mill is shut down.
- TBD based on experience.
