Description

The Terrain Park Operator is a year-round position within the terrain park and bike park. During the winter, the Terrain Park Operator completes nightly operations, including building parks from the ground up and performing minor maintenance. The Terrain Park Operator is also responsible for checking in with the day staff to determine nightly operations and projects, in addition to the routine blading and tilling of each park.

During the summer, duties consist of building and maintaining bike trails, constructing and refurbishing features, and assisting with other resort projects. The position also requires the operation of heavy equipment and the use of hand tools and chainsaws.

What will you be doing?

  • Nightly grooming of terrain parks
  • Maintenance on all features that day staff could not maintain
  • Install new features and rebuild existing features
  • Report to day staff any changes or features that need to be tested, worked on, or closed
  • Assist with trail building and grooming of regular ski trails when needed
  • Pre- and post-shift vehicle inspections, completing the logbook, and reporting issues to Vehicle Maintenance
  • Keep vehicle clean and clutter-free
  • Report grooming and safety problems to the supervisor
  • Operate a mini excavator for trail and feature construction and maintenance
  • Cut new trails and assist with trail layout and development
  • Maintain and repair existing trails
  • Perform welding as needed
  • Refurbish, repair, and construct terrain park features

What do you need to be able to do the job?

  • Heavy equipment experience
  • Be able to problem solve and be self-sufficient on the hill
  • Can work in the outdoors and various weather elements
  • Be able to communicate with 2-way radios
  • Can face the elements in case of breakdown or emergency
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Reliable transportation with 4WD or snow tires
